Mmmonday! Homemmmade Mmmuesli

Carrie Pony and I had a good laugh about this Mmmuesli post. We spent way too long thinking of foods that start with an “M” to go with “Mmmonday”. But hey, what else can you do in the car for four hours right?
I like to start mmmost mmmornings (okay I’ll stop now) with homemade muesli, it’s inexpensive, easy and healthy. Here’s how I make it…

In a bowl (cute vintage one preferably), combine:
organic rolled oats - buy in bulk to reduce packaging waste
chopped raw almonds - also available in bulk
chopped dried dates
ground flax seed
fresh fruit - whatever is in season or happens to be in the kitchen
soymilk - or regular milk if you prefer
I don’t measure any of the ingredients, but basically use the oats as a base and the rest as “toppings”. Some recipes call for toasting the oats and/or nuts in the oven first. I prefer them raw because a) I am lazy in the morning and b) they are supposed to be better for you raw, something to do with enzymes. (Disclaimer: I’m no nutritionist, so don’t quote me on that!)
Mmmmm Enjoy!
