Homage to the Square

As a lover of ’60s graphic design AND a lover of music, it’s should come as no surprise that I have a special place in my heart for vintage album covers. These Josef Albers covers for Command Records are some of my favorite examples, and a endless source of inspiration. The rhythm and visual tension created on these covers is an excellent match for the music contained within - I highly recommend any of the albums in Percussion series. My parents had several of these albums when I was a child, and even then I was drawn to the graphic images on the cover.

Great stuff. The one with the Varese Sarabande logo at top right is a CD compilation. Heh.
