Mmmonday: St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
Yesterday was the quintessential perfect New England day; fall leaves in reds and ochres, faint hint of wood smoke in the air, and a clear-as-a-bell blue sky that faded into a slanting golden sunset. One day like that gets me through an entire month of grey, slushy winter. It was the perfect day to pick up some cider and make a cozy nightcap with some close friends.
I purchased this bottle of Allspice Dram a couple of weeks ago, and haven’t done much more than pop off the top to get a whiff of the heady aroma. It was a perfect match for the warm apple cider - much mellower than the usual brandy or rum. We used 1 jigger per mug of cider. Cozy!
