Mmmonday: Root!
When I first heard about Art in the Age’s new spirit, Root, I knew I had to get my paws on a bottle ASAP. Since it hasn’t been widely distributed yet, I thought I would have to order online until my friend Mary informed me that she would be traveling to Pennsylvania and would grab a bottle for me. Bless you, Mary.
The bottle itself does not disappoint. The label is printed on a textured, felt-finish paper, which really enhances the handmade spirit of this…spirit. The back label is filled with charming water color illustrations of the myriad ingredients, and there’s a little booklet that tells the story of Root and gives a handful of drink recipes. I decided to try the “Root ‘n Tonic” since I had the ingredients on hand and couldn’t wait for a little taste.
2 oz Root 4 oz tonic dash of maple syrup
Mix Root and syrup in a tall glass, add ice, and top with tonic
