Mmmmonday - Old Mr. Boston
I have to confess that most of my Mmmonday recipes are developed totally on the fly - I add a dash of this and a glug of that and hope for the best. If it tastes good, I try to recreate the recipe…usually more successfully if I hit a winning combination within the first cocktail. Or at least the second. By number 3, I better be taking notes.
Recently I decided that it’s time to take out some of the guesswork (and also learn some classic cocktails). In a stroke of good luck I stumbled across this 1941 edition of the Old Mr. Boston De Luxe Official Bartender’s Guide, “Wherein are solved the mysteries of mixed drinks.” Sounds promising, no? I’ll serve that Cuba Libre on the patio this summer and let you know what I think!
